2008 Tyee Estate Barrel Select Pinot Noir is reviewed by Chuck Hill for his Pinot Noir with Copper River Salmon tasting. He writes, "Second-generation Tyee winemaker Merrilee Buchanan Benson crafted this reserve-style wine from grapes harvested from the oldest vines in the estate vineyard near Corvallis, Oregon. Finding an excellent balance between power and elegance, the wine offers aromas of cherry, strawberry and cranberry with notes of earth and hints of smoky oak. Flavors on the palate echo the nose with added notes of baking spices and black fruits. Excellent aging potential and a great accompaniment to salmon."
