2019 Tyee Estate Pinot Gris

Winemaker’s Notes

2019 Tyee Estate Pinot gris is refreshing with citrus blossom, green apple, white peach and mineral tones.  Made from 90% Old Vines, 10% Newer Vines grown in Tyee Estate Vineyard.  Hand harvested and gently whole cluster pressed with a bit of extended skin contact.  200 Cases Produced.

Tyee Estate Vineyard

Tyee Wine Cellars is located on our Family Farm founded over 130 years ago in the heart of Oregon's Willamette Valley.  Pinot gris vines were planted thoughout the 1980's in Tyee's Estate Vineyard and again in 2000.  These vines of Pinot gris are dry-farmed.  Five family generations have revered the farm's open spaces, woodlands, wetlands and streams while growing crops in a sustainable manner.  Good wines remember the grapes of their origin.  We believe sharing Tyee Estate wines with you is perhaps the most sublime expression of the land.

"Winemaker Merrilee Buchanan Benson grew up on her family’s century farm, which became the home of Tyee Wine Cellars during her childhood and teen years. When the time was right, she took the reins in 2006 and crafts each Tyee bottling today. This Pinot Gris comes from 90% old vines at the estate vineyard, and offers citrus blossom, green apple, peach and mineral." - Chuck Hill
